At the same time, we recognise the challenges they face in having to absorb a lot of information in a fast-moving environment. Whether you are teaching in a Primary or Secondary school, you will be supported during your induction period by our schools in partnership with the Local Authority (LA).

NQT Induction

Our NQT induction programme offers you comprehensive personal and professional support throughout your first year of teaching!

Aims

  • The overall aim of our induction programme is to support new teachers to become competent and reflective practitioners through:-
  • Providing personal and professional support
  • Assisting the development of school-wide and cross -borough networks.
  • Inducting you into the ethos of your school and the LA.
  • Introducing the support mechanisms and resources that are available within the school and the borough.
  • Providing opportunities for enhancing knowledge and understanding of the whole curriculum, including the National Curriculum.
  • Enabling you to meet the range of needs of the children.
  • Encouraging Professional Development.

Welcome Session

We hold an initial welcome session where the Induction programme is explained, where you get to meet the subject advisors who will support you and where you will receive your professional development portfolio and guidance on how to use it!

Central Induction Programme

You will be offered a central induction programme made up of half-day training sessions on a wide range of subjects. These courses will take place at one of our two Professional Development Centre sites.

School based Induction

Your school based induction programme is organised by your Induction Tutor and is based on your Career Entry and Development Profile (CEDP). You will set your objectives together and work on specific agreed areas throughout the year.
